YOU MUST HAVE COMPLETED AN INTERNSHIP AT THE CARGILL INNOVATION LAB AT UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS, URBANA-CHAMPAIGN (UIUC) FOR THIS INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY WITH CARGILL.

A Software Engineer will help maintain integrate and implement software applications within the organization. This role will support software application testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation and support to ensure smooth, stable and timely implementation of new software and updates to installed applications. Principal Accountabilities:

Help compile and prioritize enhancements and defect resolutions to applications, implementing changes.

Conduct technical software testing and debug systems and software applications, as needed.

Perform basic and less complex programming, coding and documentation of systems and applications software.

Analyze business requirements and prepare detailed technical specifications to write applications and programs.

Perform supporting activities related to the strategy and technical planning of system/application technology in accordance with internal and external software compliance standards.

Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.

Required Qualifications:

Previous Intern at the Cargill Innovation Lab at UIUC.

Bachelor’s degree with a major or minor in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other technology related discipline OR commensurate experience with software engineering in lieu of pursuing a related major/minor and expecting to graduate between December 2022 and May 2023.

Minimum of two years related work experience.

Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.

Ability to work optimally with individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures.

Willing and able to relocate.

Ability to contribute, both as part of a team and individually.

Strong communication skills – written and oral.

Preferred Qualifications:

Pursuing a cross-disciplined degree in either Economics, Business, Food Science, or Agriculture Business.

Overall 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale is preferred.

Commercial product software development experience; experience with agile development methodologies.

Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills; collaboration skills; verbal and written communication skills; and information research and gathering skills.

Knowledge of full-stack or mobile development, database design, and basic software engineering principles.
