This position requires you to be able to stand and work OUTSIDE, under a tent with other employees. This position IS FLEXIBLE since events are on the weekends usually. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to work at special events as Cashier/Concession Stand Attendants and Cashiers.

Full Job Description

Position Overview for Cashier:

  • Greets guests, communicates stand offerings, and answers any guest questions in a friendly manner.
  • Serves food and beverage items in correct proportions, following proper sanitation guidelines.
  • Participates in set-up of stand, arranges inventory, notifies Stand Lead of any inventory deficiency or shortages.
  • Work with other staff members and be a team player.
  • Performs clean-up duties in the food booth to maintain the quality appearance of the work area, including cleaning equipment.
  • Properly records all transactions via the point-of-sale system and informs guests of the amounts owed.
  • Collects the proper money for food and beverage items; processes credit card or determines correct change for guests.
  • Accounts for all transactions; maintains accurate cash count and balance banks at end of shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Overview for Stand Attendant:

  • Set up and prepare food booth/ tent before performances / events.
  • Maintain a clean workspace.
  • Serve concession to patrons including food and bottled drinks.
  • Selling other merchandise as needed.
  • Creating a friendly guest environment.
  • Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Stock service window area with supplies such as utensils, bags, condiments, to-go containers.
  • Work with other staff members and be a team player.
  • Additional responsibilities could include standing outside of tent to attract customers during slow periods. Assist in cooking tasks.

Requirements:

  • Food service in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Customer service.
  • Retail experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with a variety of clients in a loud, high-volume setting.
  • Track record of handling cash responsibly.
  • Ability to lift to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, stoop and engage in physical activity for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work with rotating inventory and a variety of food items.
  • Knowledge of responsible service guidelines for alcohol.
  • Ability to work well with others/ coworkers.
  • Reliable transportation as events are at different locations.
  • Effective communication skills with guests and staff.
  • Quick thinking.
  • Great attention to detail.

These positions require many skills including:

  • Attention-to-Detail. Concession workers must be able to follow directions for making food and follow company policies, such as health guidelines.
  • Customer Service. Providing excellent customer service is a huge part of the concession attendant role. You must be able to communicate effectively and handle customers in high-stress environments.
  • Collaboration. Concession attendants need to be able to work well on a team. It takes multiple people working together to handle the crowds many concession stands face.
  • Communication Skills. Concession attendants should be effective communicators both to customers and each other while on the clock.
  • Multitasking. Just like a fast-food worker, you will need to be nimble and able to multitask effectively. Likely, concession workers will be working on filling multiple orders at once during their shifts.
