THE POSITION

The Department of Transportation is seeking an organized, positive individual to provide clerical support. If you are a dedicated individual who has a positive attitude, is organized, and pays attention to details, as well as having a strong interest in clerical work, this may be the position for you.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The Clerical Assistant functions under the direction of the District Property Manager completing all clerical responsibilities specific to the Right of Way unit including preparation of letters, reports, transmittals, vouchers, and agenda in draft and final form for the Portfolio Management/Design Services Engineer, and the following Design subunits: District Right of Way and Utility Unit; District Planning and Programming/Environmental Unit. Other key responsibilities include data input, fiscal monitoring, document tracking and invoice checking for above units.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: Upon completion of a satisfactory 6-month probationary review, if applicable, candidate may be eligible to telework part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Montoursville.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
