This position serves as the primary administrative support personnel for the Deputy AD/Chief of Staff. They work independently to provide oversight of special projects and department initiatives, while assisting with day-to-day coordination and administration of internal activities. Works closely with department leadership to implement policies and procedures based on NCAA, university and specific governing body standards.
- Plans, implements, and directs general and specific projects assigned by the Deputy AD/Chief of Staff.
- Oversight of special projects and department initiatives.
- Establishes and maintains cooperative working relationships On- and Off-Campus constituents.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Communication skills. Ability to develop and deliver multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences. Ability to collaborate positively to effectively drive toward organizational goals. Ability to work independently, set own priorities, be self-motivated and a problem solver. General knowledge of University infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Experience in applying policies and procedures. Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects. Thorough knowledge of office systems and ability to use a broad range of Microsoft Office software, personal computer or MAC operations. Knowledge of NCAA policies and procedures. Knowledge of PC computer operations and Excel, Word and Powerpoint software. Ability to exercise mature judgment and discretion under intense pressure and short timelines. Knowledge of collegiate sport operations. Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations preferred.
Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university’s commitment to a “vision of excellence.”
Education and Experience
Equivalent to five years of administrative support experience required.
Licenses / Certificates
CA Drivers license is required
Administrative Support Coordinator II
The salary range for this classification is $3,440 to $5,639 per month.
Excellent benefits through CalPERS (health, vision, dental), tuition fee waiver, generous vacation and sick leave, and 14 paid holidays each year.
Full-time temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
